Job summary

King Ranch, Inc. in Hempstead, TX is seeking a hands-on operations lead for turfgrass management. The role focuses on optimizing growth and care of all grass varieties, harvesting sod efficiently, and maintaining equipment while controlling costs.

You will supervise staff, train and motivate crews, and report progress to the Regional Manager. As part of the Turfgrass group, you’ll review purchases, process invoices, and ensure safety training is completed weekly.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
• Must have basic mathematical skills including working with units of measure.
• Must be able to make sound judgments with minimal supervision; make calculated decisions that are efficient and feasible.

• Maintain all equipment in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Maintain an optimum employee staff to perform all aspects of farming operation through hiring, training, and motivation.
• Report all pertinent information to the Regional Manager and Corporate Office.
• Keep up to date records and reports for company use.
• Review and approve all purchases; process all invoices through appropriate channels to accounts payable in corporate office.
• Be sure weekly safety training is performed to minimize work related accidents.
