Opal Foods in Iowa Falls seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on processing machinery in a live animal production environment, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.

The role requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, hands-on troubleshooting, and the ability to work off-schedule shifts or nights; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• 2 years of experience in maintenance related roles.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Willing to work off schedule shifts and/or nights when necessary.
• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Keep equipment running and operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing machinery and electrical equipment.
• Perform preventive and urgent maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Take a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down time.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties.
• Use front end loader to move litter.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
