Job summary

H2ajobs is hiring a Farm Equipment Mechanic in Texas. The role involves inspecting, disassembling, repairing and reassembling agricultural machinery to diagnose and fix faults. You will test engines and electrical components, perform tune-ups, and ensure equipment operates reliably in varying conditions.

Housing and meals are provided by the employer, with transport arranged to job sites. Weekend/holiday work may be required, and wage offers may vary by experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with farm equipment maintenance or repair is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, repair and reassemble farm equipment.

Job description

Duties may include: Duties include but are not limited to the following: Grain cleaning and snow removal. Examine equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Dismantle defective machines for repair. Repair or replace defective parts. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Clean and lubricate parts. Test and replace electrical components. Tune or overhaul engines. Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance. This job is spent primarily in the shop. Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning & other related Farm Equipment Mechanic activities as per SOC/OES 49-3041 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will furnish cooking facilities, utilities, and utensils for workers to prepare their own meals in the housing provided kitchen. Included basic appliances will consist of, but is not limited to, refrigerator, stove/oven, and sink with hot and cold-water connections.All appliances included will be in good, working condition for the workers. Employer will provide transportation to grocery store at least once a week for workers who wish to shop for food.
