Job description

Overview

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Clean out Crew associate. This position will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas and will perform ground labor and assist equipment operators in the cleaning of poultry houses and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain sanitation, bio‑security and safety practices.
• Follow SOPs or WI to properly complete tasks.
• Empty feeders and remove all debris.
• Raise and lower, remove or teardown equipment as necessary.
• Open and close house end doors as needed.
• Strip all litter and scrape cement floors.
• Use designated chemicals to sanitize all floors, walls, slats, machinery as defined by the SOP/WI.
• Move to assist in other departments as required.
• Assist supervisor with other duties as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Comfortable working in an outside environment with exposure to dust, chemicals, pest and wildlife.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to drive crew to job sites and assist in main job functions.
• Experience working with chemicals such as detergents and disinfectants.
• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds.
• Routinely work up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
• Routine handling and interacting with live poultry.
• Ability to work unsupervised and self‑motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
• Standing for extended periods of time (6 hours).
• Grip, grasp or twist using hands and wrists; lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Bend and stoop repetitively throughout shift.
• Prolonged exposure to dry and dusty environments.
• Works cooperatively with a team.
• Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability.
• Proficiency in handling poultry (preferred but not required).
• Basic understanding of machinery teardown and setup and chemical handling (strong plus).
