Job summary

Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Veterinary Technician to support Farm Animal Services, handling outpatient, inpatient, and ambulatory cases. The role primarily serves livestock and some large exotic animals, with a 7:30 am–5:30 pm schedule on weekdays and occasional call-backs or weekend work.

The position requires veterinary tech training with possible progression to Levels I–III based on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology required or equivalent.
• Active license with the Alabama State Board of Veterinary Medicine as a Veterinary Technician, or ability to become licensed within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction of veterinary students during initial exams and procedures.
• Provide direct patient care including exams, medications, catheter placement, and sample collection.
• Maintain floor stock, restock supplies, and clean facilities and equipment.
• Assist with client records, billing, and communication with clinicians and audit department.
