Goddard Riverside Community Center in Manhattan seeks a Family Worker to provide a blend of individual and group support for parents, caregivers, children and young people with additional needs, to improve outcomes for families.

The role works with parents to strengthen parental capacity, increase engagement in education, and connect families with the local community. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, 7.5-hour shifts, with salary from $31,200 to $35,485.

Organization Overview

The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Program Description

Goddard Riverside Community Center operates early childhood centers for working families and their children aged 2 to 5 years old. Each center facilitates classroom activities that promote intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth through the hands-on exploration of science, nature and art.

Purpose of Position

The role of the Family Worker is to provide a mixture of individual and group interventions with parents, caregivers, children and young people with additional needs up to the thresholds for social care involvement to improve outcomes for children and families. To work in partnership with parents to strengthen parental capacity and family relationships and to increase parental engagement in their local community and in their children’s education.

Schedule

Monday through Friday between 7:30 am to 6:00 pm (7.5 hour shift)

Salary

$31,200- $35,485
