Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 1 year related experience.
• Must complete credential or AA in a related field within 18 months of hire.
• Desired AA degree in social work or related field with 2 years related experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, and regulations.
• Strong communication skills with families and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, enroll and obtain records for children and families to ensure full enrollment and waitlists.
• Participate in parent meetings, community collaborations and affiliations to advocate for Head Start children and families.
• Ensure health requirements are met according to Head Start standards.
• Perform confidential recordkeeping and mandated reporting timely and accurately.
• Communicate with families regarding screenings, assessments, and services provided.
• Refer families to SHS and community resources as needed.
• Conduct home visits with education staff as social service needs arise.
• Attend trainings and meetings as directed by supervisor; pursue ongoing professional development.
• Assist teaching staff to meet licensing requirements within the class.
