Job summary

Catholic Charities seeks a Community Support Specialist to assess service needs and link children and families with education, medical, social, vocational, and other community services. The CSS works with families to create supportive environments through referrals, education, and skill development.

The role involves providing services in home, school, and community settings, coordinating child-focused social services, and implementing interventions per the Individualized Service Plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and families.
• Must meet Mississippi Department of Mental Health requirements to be certified as a Community Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Assess service needs and link child and family to support services.
• Provide direct services in home, school, and community settings.
• Coordinate and monitor social services for child-focused interventions.
• Develop and maintain a community support resource manual.
• Attend meetings and ensure client activity is recorded daily in the agency database.
