Job summary

Dorchester County Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Parent Partner Liaison (Family Support) in Cambridge, Maryland. The role supports families navigating the special education process, develops parent workshops, connects families with resources, and strengthens family involvement district-wide.

This hourly position offers up to 20 hours per week and no benefits; starting immediately with a strong emphasis on community outreach and collaboration with school staff.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s preferred.
• Three+ years experience with children with disabilities and families.

Responsibilities

• Design parent training workshops related to special education.
• Develop goals, objective, resources, and evaluation tools for parent education programs.
• Conduct parent and community needs assessments.
• Develop, administer, and evaluate surveys.
• Interview parents, staff, and community service agencies to identify needs.
• Maintain records of services provided.
• Prepare reports on parent education programs and activities.
• Collect and present data on parent involvement across district schools.
• Participate in district-wide meetings related to family involvement.
• Travel to homes within Dorchester County as required.
