Job summary

Dorchester County Public Schools in Cambridge, Maryland is currently accepting applications for Physical Management Assistants and substitute Physical Management Assistants for the 2026 - 2027 school year. The candidate will under the direction of the school principal and the supervisor of special education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
• Willingness to work with students with diverse needs.
• Must be able to follow instructions and accept supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in individual and small group work to promote academic and behavioral successes.
• Assist with classroom behavior management and implementing strategies.
• Help devise reinforcement strategies based on student needs and abilities.
• Monitor and support students during computer activities and transitions.
• Maintain confidentiality about students and display ethical behavior.
• Supervise students during meals and classroom transitions.
• Participate in staff in-service programs as assigned.
• Assist with lifting, feeding, and toileting as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
