Job summary

The Children’s Home Society Huntington office is seeking a Family Support Center Assistant to promote parenting and life skills, provide transportation, document services, and connect families with community resources. You will work under supervision with a focus on strengthening families and ensuring access to essential supports.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children and families.
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance.
• Must meet agency training and credentialing requirements.
• Criminal background and child abuse registry checks.
• 24/7 availability to work with irregular hours.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
• Annual physical and TB documentation.

Responsibilities

• Promote parenting skills and life skills training for children and families under supervision.
• Provide transportation and assist with accessing services.
• Document services and connect participants with safety net services such as childcare, education, employment, transportation.
• Act as liaison between participants and other agencies and partners.
• Assist participants in crisis situations involving social, emotional, health or other problems.
• Maintain respectful relationships with parents and model positive interactions.
• Advocate for children and families and engage the community in awareness and involvement.
