Job summary

Easterseals Southern California seeks an experienced Family Development Coordinator to support Early Head Start and Head Start services. You will coordinate family engagement, connect families with community resources, and ensure compliance with program standards while mentoring staff.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field, training in child abuse reporting, and certifications in CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in social services or a related field.
• Must complete California-mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training.
• Pesticide Safety Training prior to start.
• Must obtain credential/certification in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or related field within 18 months.
• Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Food handler’s certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit eligible families and complete intake and enrollment paperwork.
• Maintain caseload and timely data entry per program standards.
• Coordinate referrals for family and community development services.
• Develop Family Partnership Agreements and family goals with families.
• Mentor Family Support Staff on eligibility and enrollment documentation and standards.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and policies.
• Identify resources for families in health, education, employment, and transportation.
• Coordinate prenatal education and support for pregnant women.
