Job summary

Assistance Plus is seeking a Family Support Specialist to work with the behavioral health home team in delivering coordinated care to youth and families in Maine. This role emphasizes leadership and peer storytelling to enhance family support services and collaboration with community providers.

The candidate will share lived experience, navigate child-serving systems, and help implement family-centered practices while meeting eligibility requirements and scheduling needs.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of lived parenting experience with a child/youth who had emotional, developmental, behavioral, substance use or mental health concerns.
• Proof of vehicle insurance at $50K/$100K and a valid Maine driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Parent/Family Peer certification or provisional.
• Entry level computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with the behavioral health home team to ensure well-coordinated and integrated care for youth and families.
• Provide leadership and technical assistance in developing and implementing BHHO family support services.
• Share experiences with families, co-workers, and community providers to support success.
