Job summary

The Salvation Army Dalton Family Store in GA is seeking a full-time Warehouse Lead to supervise warehouse staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries, ensuring efficient donation processing and accurate reporting.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of warehouse experience with six months in a supervisory capacity, and a valid state driver’s license; training and compliance are essential parts of the job.

Responsibilities

• Leads warehouse staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries; schedules and monitors work; trains staff in procedures; inspects progress for accuracy and completeness; guides staff to resolve issues and ensures standards are met.
• Monitors the arrival and distribution of all donations to ensure items reach the correct destination promptly.
• Monitors warehouse stock levels to identify items needing replenishment and maintain inventory balance.
• Inspects donated items (clothes, shoes, household items, food, etc.) for quality and suitability.

Job Location: GA-DAL Dalton Family Store - DALTON, GA, Position Type: Full Time Regular, Salary Range: $13.50, Job Category: Store, This position is responsible for:

Key Responsibilities

• Serves as a lead worker to warehouse staff (employees, beneficiaries, and community service workers) and volunteers; schedules and monitors their work; instructs and trains staff in the proper methods and procedures for performing work; inspects work in progress and upon completion for accuracy and completeness; responds to employees questions and assists in resolving operational and personnel problems; ensures the work is performed in compliance with established standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitors the arrival and distribution of all donations ensuring that items reach the appropriate destination in a timely manner.
• Monitors the supply of items available in the warehouse in order to determine the areas needing additional stock.
• Inspects donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, food, etc.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Needs to meet attendance requirement.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU: Education and Experience

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred and three (3) years of experience performing warehouse work with at least six (6) months experience in a supervisory capacity
• OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
