Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of New York in Brooklyn is hiring a Family Worker to support family services under the guidance of the Family Service Coordinator. The role focuses on recruitment, enrollment, and maintaining program census for FCC families.

You will collaborate with families to complete assessments, coordinate health records, and plan monthly parent orientations, while partnering with community resources to meet identified needs. The position is full-time, salaried non-exempt.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Human Services or related field or CDA credential.
• Knowledge of Family Child Care preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin), French or other language preferred.
• Basic competency in Microsoft Office for Windows.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a caseload of ~15 FCC providers.
• Assists families with eligibility determination and enrollment.
• Conduct recruitment activities to maintain enrollment.
• Tracks attendance and follows up with families on absences.
• Ensures health/screening records are accurate and current per DOE/DOHMH.
• Collaborates with community agencies to identify resources.
• Plans monthly new parent orientation and meetings.
• Collects weekly fees and issues receipts; follow up on overdue payments.
• Other tasks as assigned by Director.
