Job summary

The Community Action Corporation of South Texas seeks a Family Advocate to provide case management for Head Start families, coordinating referrals and documenting services across health, nutrition, disability, transition, and family engagement areas. You will liaise with families, staff, and community partners to plan and implement programs that support school readiness and family well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Associate degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or related field.
• Credential or certification in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred in Social Work or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish community partnerships to enhance Head Start services.
• Deliver case management and coordinate referrals for families.
• Maintain accurate documentation of health, nutrition, and family engagement activities in the Head Start software.
• Collaborate with staff to support family engagement and transitions.
• Assist families with immunizations, care plans, and referrals.

Education

Baccalaureate or Associate degree in Social Work or related field

Credential or certification in Social Work or related field

Master's degree in Social Work or related field (preferred)

Valid Texas Driver's License

DFPS background check and pre-employment physical

Health Certificate annually; Pediatric CPR & First Aid within 30 days

24 clock hours of professional development per year
