Qualifications

• Family Development Credential and High School Diploma or higher in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or a related field.
• One year of experience working with low-income families is required; preschool experience preferred.
• Position requires the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in Spanish.
• Clear criminal record with DOJ/FBI/CACI and health/ TB immunization requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify health and social service needs of families and children and plan program activities to meet those needs.
• Use a case management approach to support families in making choices reflecting culture, values, and strengths.
• Initiate collaborative partnerships with parents to establish rapport and encourage self-sufficiency.
• Assess family needs, develop individualized plans, deliver or coordinate services, and review progress.
• Develop IFPA documents describing goals, responsibilities, strategies, and timetables; update as needed.
• Provide comprehensive community resources information and refer families to community agencies.
• Conduct home visits when needed and promote parent volunteerism.
• Assist with transition processes between home, school, and programs; enable parents to advocate for their child.
• Facilitate meetings and trainings; report suspected child abuse following procedures.

Education
