Job summary

SCI is seeking a Family Service Counselor in the US-MO Gladstone area to serve client families by arranging at-need and pre-need cemetery services. This role focuses on lead generation, building relationships with families, and collaborating with funeral home staff to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities include prospecting, responding to inquiries, and ensuring satisfaction while striving for referrals. Requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience is an asset.
• Ability to drive frequently and maintain a valid license.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed.
• Knowledge of computers and some software is required.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and generate lead opportunities, dedicating 1–2 hours daily to outreach.
• Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally to families.
• Build trust-based relationships with families to understand needs and offer value.
• Coordinate with funeral directors, location managers, and team members to ensure high-quality service.
• Prepare for appointments with attention to detail and follow through on requests.
