Job summary

South Dakota Parent Connection is seeking a Full-Time Outreach Specialist to provide information, resources, technical assistance, training, and support to families and professionals serving children with developmental disabilities and/or special health care needs.

This role helps families access services, connects them with community and statewide resources, and builds partnerships throughout South Dakota.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field is required.
• Knowledge of or experience with individuals with disabilities and their families is essential.
• Knowledge of services, support programs, special education, and community resources.
• Strong communication, organizational, computer, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, resources, technical assistance, training, and support to families and professionals.
• Respond to requests for assistance by phone, email, in person, and other methods.
• Build and maintain relationships with families, schools, agencies, organizations, community leaders, and partners.
• Participate in community events, conferences, workshops, and other outreach activities.
• Assist with and deliver training, workshops, and presentations.
• Help develop, update, organize, and distribute print and electronic resources, including newsletters and website content.
• Maintain accurate data and required documentation while protecting privacy and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with staff to support the organization’s mission and priorities.
