Job summary

Family-Outreach,-Inc. is seeking a Family Support Specialist to empower families with children who have developmental challenges. The role blends remote administrative duties with in-person visits to families in Missoula and surrounding areas.

You will conduct needs assessments, coordinate services with a multidisciplinary team, and develop individualized care plans. A Bachelor’s degree and valid Montana driver’s license are required, along with background checks and RBI training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• FSS certification process to be completed within Montana Milestones program timelines.
• Valid Montana driver’s license or ability to obtain one within one month of hire.
• Access to a reliable vehicle.
• Background check must be successfully completed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of family and child needs to determine eligibility and plan action steps.
• Pursue RBI training/certification to better understand family needs.
• Develop individualized care plans based on multidisciplinary input.
• Coordinate services with community agencies via a multidisciplinary team approach.
• Accurately track and document services using multiple programs in compliance with state regulations.
• Complete consumer-related paperwork in a timely manner.
• Explain policies and families’ rights clearly and accurately.
• Coach best practices in early childhood behavior management and parenting.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance to safeguard records.
• Monitor child outcomes related to social-emotional skills and knowledge acquisition.
• Pursue professional development to enhance early childhood knowledge.
• Provide information and guide referrals to local school districts for transitions to public schools.
• Assist families in obtaining developmental disability eligibility (DD Eligibility).
• Support public relations activities to foster collaboration with outside agencies.
