Community Action is a nonprofit serving Washington County, Oregon. We are seeking a Bilingual Family Resource Navigator to assess families with young children (prenatal to age 6) and connect them to essential programs and resources.

The role requires at least three years in eligibility determination, excellent English/Arabic communication, and the ability to coordinate care and advocate for families. Compensation includes a competitive hourly rate and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of eligibility determination experience including intake and information delivery.
• Fluent in both English and Arabic (spoken and written) is required.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive assessments via phone, virtual, or in-person interviews for households in Washington County.
• Connect families to Help Me Grow Prenatal to Three, Healthy Families, CARE, and Find Child Care Oregon.
• Assist with program screenings and applications in a trauma-informed, professional manner.
• Provide essential care coordination, education and advocacy on child development and quality childcare options.
• Allocate resources based on assessment results and knowledge of program options.
• Enroll individuals in the Oregon Health Plan.
• Maintain accurate, confidential client records across multiple databases.
• Build collaborative relationships with service providers and diverse client populations.

Job Position Description

Are you a compassionate and resourceful individual dedicated to helping families thrive? We're seeking a Bilingual Family Resource Navigator to join our team and provide essential support to families with young children (prenatal to age 6) in Washington County. In this vital role, you'll be the first point of contact for families seeking assistance, conducting comprehensive assessments, and connecting them with critical resources. The hiring range is $22.86 - $25.15 per hour, depending on qualifications.

Abbreviated Duties List

• Conduct phone based, virtual or face-to-face comprehensive assessment interviews with households that live in Washington County.
• Connecting families to a wide range of programs like Help Me Grow (HMG) Prenatal to Three, Healthy Families (HF), Community Action Resource Eligibility Assessment (CARE), and Find Child Care Oregon (FCCO).
• Assisting with program screenings and applications in a professional and trauma-informed manner.
• Providing essential care coordination, education, and advocacy for families, including information on child development and quality childcare options.
• Independently allocate resources to households based on assessment results and knowledge of Community Action and community resources.
• Enrolling individuals in the Oregon Health Plan.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential client records across multiple databases.
• Building collaborative relationships with service providers and diverse client populations.

Abbreviated Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in eligibility determination, including phone and face-to-face client intake and information delivery. (Step 3 on the Oregon Registry or equivalent is preferred.)
• Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Arabic (spoken and written) is required.
• Computer Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software programs. Experience with data entry and a high degree of accuracy is essential.
• Compassion & Communication: Strong ability to work effectively with diverse families, de-escalate crisis situations, and provide trauma-informed client services. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Resourcefulness: Knowledge of early childhood development and an understanding of diverse cultural, geographic, economic, and social issues impacting families. Ability to adapt to changing client needs and make independent decisions.
• Collaboration: Experience coordinating with other professionals and social service agencies.
• Driver's License: Valid Oregon driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
• Certifications (Ability to Obtain within 6 Months): Oregon ONE Eligibility training, Healthy Families Oregon training, Find Child Care Oregon referral training.
