Job summary

Kidsave is seeking a Family Recruitment & Community Engagement Specialist in Central Virginia. The hybrid role focuses on identifying, engaging, and supporting prospective host, mentor, and adoptive families throughout recruitment and onboarding.

The ideal candidate will build partnerships, host orientations, and represent Kidsave at events, while meeting recruitment goals. Evening/weekend work is required to support orientations and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in community outreach, nonprofit development, volunteer recruitment, business development, sales, marketing, education, or child welfare.
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Public speaking experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to recruit qualified host, mentor, and adoptive families.
• Build relationships with prospective families through consistent communication and follow-up.
• Present to educate community partners and recruit prospective families.
• Coordinate orientations for prospective families.
• Track recruitment metrics and generate regular reports.
• Maintain an active pipeline of community partners and referral sources.
