Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support the Mecklenburg County Detention Center North in Charlotte, NC on a PRN basis (8 hours per week).

The NP will provide ambulatory care in a correctional setting, collaborate with a physician supervisor and security staff, and meet licensure requirements (NC NP license). Prior correctional experience is appreciated but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
• Must possess current NP license in North Carolina.
• 1 year experience in correctional care preferred, or 3 years NP in non-correctional setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide ambulatory care in a correctional environment under physician supervision.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and security officers to deliver care.
• Manage basic medical services in a correctional setting.

Education

1 year correctional experience or 3 years non-correctional NP experience

Nurse Practitioner Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner utilizes the medical model to meet a variety of healthcare needs with ambulatory care as their primary focus in a correctional environment. The NP/PA works with a variety of healthcare professionals/security officers in a correctional environment to provide basic medical services supervised by a licensed Physician.

Nurse Practitioner Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited college/university NP or PA program
• Must possess current NP license in North Carolina
• At least 1 year Experience in Correctional desired but not required or at least 3 years of NP experience in a non-correctional environment
• Acute care experience preferred
