Job summary

WellSpan Health’s Family Practice Float Pool seeks a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care, perform treatments, and assist clinicians in a fast-paced clinic setting. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and efficient office workflows while participating in multi-disciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will have a Medical Assistant credential (or degree), BLS, and strong communication skills to educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree in Medical Assisting preferred or Diploma Program in Medical Assisting preferred.
• 1 year Medical Assistant experience required or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire required; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) upon hire preferred.
• Proficient communication skills; ability to enter data into EHR; SBAR communication.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document reason for visit and vital signs.
• Collect specimens with proper handling and logging.
• Prepare patients for procedures and maintain sterile technique.
• Schedule and coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic services; relay results to patients.
• Administer vaccines/medications under supervision and as qualified.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and follow-up steps.
