Job summary

Saban Community Clinic seeks an IM or FM Physician to provide comprehensive primary care and GYN services for adult patients. The role is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, at 2121 W Temple St, LA 90026. In addition to patient care, you may mentor residents and contribute to clinic program development.

The position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus, generous benefits, and coverage options for medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans. California medical licensure and DEA/BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Requires valid California medical license with no disciplinary actions.
• Board certification or eligibility in primary care.
• Current DEA license and BCLS certification.
• Competency in evaluating/treating general pediatric and adult ambulatory care.
• Knowledge of relevant CA state and federal care regulations; experience with CHDP, Medi-Cal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary care services to clinic patients, including exams and diagnostic tests, and develops treatment plans.
• Assists patients and families in navigating care access within and outside the clinic.
• Mentors residents and student physicians; collaborates with staff on patient care management.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and clinical protocols development.
• Collaborates with staff to discuss clinical concerns and care improvement opportunities.
• Participates in clinic programs and may lead health care initiatives.

We are excited to partner with The Children's Institute and open a new medical clinic within their building to help service their clients. We are looking for an IM or FM Physician that can also provide GYN services to our adult patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides primary care services to Clinic patients including: Conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting the results of laboratory, x-ray and other tests; Determining and implementing courses of treatment, providing and monitoring the results of treatment; and adjusting as needed
• Proactively assists the patient and family through all facets of accessing care at the Clinic and elsewhere, serving as a resource to resolve patient and family concerns.
• Confers with student and resident physicians and other professional and support staff regarding care and treatment of patients and assists/mentors them in management of illness.
• Participates in the improving the quality of care including participation in peer review, setting clinical standards for medical support staff, and monitoring quality of medical services to patients.
• Meets and consults with other staff providers on an on-going, regular basis to discuss clinical concerns and opportunities for care improvement.
• Participates in team meetings and provides input on general operational issues to improve the quality of health care delivery including the Clinics Best Practices team to create and monitor protocols/guidelines for patient care and uniformity of forms.
• Participates in the development and implementation of new Clinic programs; may assume leadership for new health care initiatives and projects.
• Identifies training needs of staff and collaborates others to develop and implement appropriate training programs and opportunities to ensure a skilled and knowledgeable staff.

Position Requirements:

• A valid license to practice medicine in the State of California, with no pending or previous disciplinary action from any state licensing entity
• Board certification or eligibility in primary care specialty,
• Current DEA license and BCLS certificate
• Competency in evaluating and treating general pediatric and adult ambulatory care
• Basic knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relating to care of patients in a clinic setting; and prior experience with county, state and federal programs such as CHDP, FPACT, EWC, Medi-Cal and Title X is preferred.
