Job summary

MaineHealth Behavioral Health is seeking a Family Peer Support Partner to build supportive relationships with families with children in BHHO, PIER or other programs. The role encourages self-advocacy to reach culturally specific life goals and to develop skills for families.

Responsibilities include one-on-one support and potential facilitation of support groups, with a focus on accessibility and community resources. Training and certification are required, including P.E.A.R.L.S.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Certification as Family Peer Support Partner required; completion of P.E.A.R.L.S. training within 9 months of employment.
• Valid Driver’s License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specific by agency policy required.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: Certification as Family Peer Support Partner required. Completion of P.E.A.R.L.S. training within 9 months of employment. Valid Driver’s License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specific by agency policy required.
• Experience: Five years of lived experience as a parent, therapeutic foster parent or guardian of a child with at risk of serious emotional disturbances, autism or other developmental challenges required. One year experience with knowledge accessing community resources preferred.
• Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Computer proficiency required.

The pay range for this position is $19.87to $23.75 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
