Job summary

Fairbanks Native Association is seeking a Family Peer Specialist in Fairbanks, AK. The role focuses on navigation and crisis response for participants and their families from intake to recovery, collaborating with clinical staff to ensure culturally resonant services.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience working with the AN/AI population, plus experience providing culturally specific services and caregiver experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year experience with Alaska Native/American Indian population.
• Experience providing culturally specific services.
• At least 1 year lived experience as a caregiver of a child who has experienced a mental health episode.
• Ability to complete Traditional Peer Support Training within 1 year and pursue Alaska Peer Support Specialist Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide navigation and crisis response services from intake to recovery support.
• Assist participants and families in learning coping skills and achieving stability.
• Collaborate with a treatment team to ensure culturally resonant behavioral health services.
• Connect participants with community resources and support services.
• Conduct weekly home-based visits as part of the program.
