Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Family Paralegal to join the Domestic Abuse Department. You will manage your own caseload from instruction to conclusion, providing sensitive legal support to vulnerable clients.

The role offers fully remote or hybrid working with a salary up to £35,000, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits; candidate can be based anywhere in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic abuse legal work and managing your own caseload from start to finish.
• Working knowledge of CCMS and Legal Aid Agency procedures.
• Experience in legal aid-funded family law work.
• A law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Strong drafting, organisational and communication skills.
• Good attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing your own caseload of domestic abuse matters from start to finish, including Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders.
• Taking initial instructions from clients with sensitivity and understanding.
• Preparing urgent court applications, statements, chronologies and supporting documentation.
• Completing Legal Aid applications, including emergency funding, and working with CCMS.
• Communicating with courts, police, support workers and interpreters.
• Supporting vulnerable clients and keeping them informed throughout the legal process.
• Maintaining accurate case files and ensuring confidentiality and compliance with safeguarding procedures.
