Job summary

Patriot Urgent Care, a CRH Healthcare company, is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for urgent care in Clinton, MD. The role covers walk-ins and same-day appointments for patients age 2 and up, with a focus on delivering efficient, high-quality care in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland NP/PA license or eligibility.
• Current certification as FNP or PA-C.
• At least two years of clinical experience as FNP/PA-C.
• Active DEA registration or ability to obtain one.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to interpret X-rays and other diagnostic test results independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage episodic and chronic conditions for walk-ins and same-day appointments for ages 2 and up.
• Perform physicals including sports, DOT, pre-employment and annual.
• Evaluate patients for workers’ compensation injuries.
• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries.
• Perform suturing, splinting, I&D, and wound care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays and EKGs.
• Prescribe medications per Maryland regulations and clinic protocols.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses and follow-up care.
• Accurately document encounters and collaborate with team for high-quality care.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage episodic and chronic conditions with walk-ins and same-day appointments as the sole advanced practice provider for ages 2 and up.
• Perform physicals such as sports, DOT, pre-employment, and annual.
• Evaluate patients for workers’ compensation injuries.
• Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating acute illnesses and injuries
• Performing procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care
• Ordering and independently interpreting diagnostic tests, including X-rays, laboratory work, and 12-lead EKGs
• Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with Maryland regulations and clinic protocols
• Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
• Accurately and efficiently documenting patient encounters
• Collaborating with clinical and operational team members to provide a convenient, caring, and high-quality patient experience

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Maryland Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license, or eligibility to obtain one
• Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• At least two years of clinical experience as an FNP or PA-C
• Active DEA registration, or ability to obtain one
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to perform common urgent care procedures, including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care
• Ability to independently interpret X-rays and other diagnostic test results
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-service skills
• Preferred Experience
• Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine
• Experience practicing in a fast-paced or high-volume clinical environment
• Hourly Rate or Salary Range: Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
