Job summary

Community Health Center of Lubbock, Inc. (CHCL) seeks a Family Nurse Practitioner to join the Main Clinic in Lubbock, TX. The NP will provide preventive and primary care within a coordinated health-care team, collaborating with physicians and following established guidelines.

Responsibilities include conducting exams, ordering tests, recording histories, and communicating results to patients. Ideal candidates have TX RN licensure, NP certification, and a DEA license; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Texas with post-graduate NP certification.
• Current DEA license; BLS certification.
• BSN or higher degree; NP program completion.
• Excellent communication; English required; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care to patients in an ambulatory setting.
• Perform initial examinations and patient observations.
• Set up and monitor medical equipment.
• Order and administer diagnostic tests; communicate results to patients/families.
• Record patient histories and maintain documentation.

The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with a physician and provides care under established guidelines agreed upon by the nurse practitioner and the physician.Duties include:* Providing primary care to patients* Performing initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations* Setting up and monitoring medical equipment* Ordering and administering diagnostic tests* Communicating test results to patients and their families* Recording patient medical histories* Operating and maintaining medical equipment## Qualifications**Education:**Registered nurse and successful completion of a certified post-graduate program for nurse practitioners.**Licensure:**Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. BSN or advanced degree, certification and/or license in specialty. Maintains current DEA license. Current in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS).**Experience:**Prefer experience but will consider new graduate.**Expertise:**Primary health care**Language:**English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred**Travel:**Occasionally; valid Texas driver’s license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation.**Hours of Work:** 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work.
