Job summary

Community Health Center of Lubbock, Inc. in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Texas-licensed Certified Nurse Midwife to deliver primary and preventive women's health care in an ambulatory setting under a physician's supervision.

The role includes prenatal and postpartum care, labor/delivery support, gynecologic exams, family planning, and patient education, with emphasis on underserved populations. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; hours are 8am-5pm Monday–Friday with occasional weekend/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse license in Texas and certified post-graduate program for nurse-midwives.
• Current DEA license and BLS certification.
• Experience preferred but new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide prenatal and postpartum care for pregnant patients.
• Assist during labor and delivery and care for newborns.
• Perform routine gynecologic exams and contribute to family planning.
• Educate patients on parenting, health, and prevention.
• Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with the care team.

Job Details: Job Location: Main Clinic - Lubbock, TX 79401, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: Graduate Degree, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Health Care, CHCL seeks to hire a Texas licensed Certified Nurse Midwife who has a heart for working with low-income and underserved populations. The Certified Nurse Midwife provides primary and preventative women's health care services relating to pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, family planning, and routine gynecological needs as part of a health care team in an ambulatory care setting. The Certified Nurse Midwife works under the supervision of a licensed physician pursuant to a collaborative practice agreement.

Duties include:

• Providing prenatal and postpartum care for pregnant women
• Tending to patients and newborns during labor and delivery
• Performing routine gynecological care, including exams
• Educating patients on parenting and family planning
• Maintaining patient medical records
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and referring patients to specialists when necessary
• Testing for and diagnosing various medical conditions
• Providing emotional support for expectant and new mothers

Qualifications:

Education: Registered nurse and successful completion of a certified post-graduate program for nurse-midwives.

Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. BSN or advanced degree, certification and/or license in specialty. Maintains current DEA license. Current in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS).

Experience: Prefer experience but will consider new graduate.

Expertise: Women's health and pregnancy.

Language: English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Travel: Occasionally; valid Texas driver’s license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation.

Hours of Work: 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work.
