Job summary

John Muir Health Nurse Practitioner role provides medical evaluation and treatment of patients in collaboration with and under the direction of the Supervising Physician. The NP performs duties via standardized procedures and utilizes physical diagnosis, psycho-social assessment, and health counseling skills.

The NP completes medical records, patient messaging, and other required documentation, working collegially with physicians and surgeons in diverse settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nurse Practitioner Program (MSN or DNP) - Required
• 2 years Healthcare – Experience in specialty - Preferred
• RN California Board of Nursing - Required
• NP Registered Nurse Practitioner - CA Board of Registered Nursing - Required
• NP-F Registered Nurse Practitioner Furnishing - CA Board of Registered Nursing - Required
• FNP Family Nurse Practitioner - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center - Required
• Related NP clinical license or certification through ANCC or
• NP Nurse Practitioner - AANP American Academy of Nurse Practitioners – Required
• DEA Drug Enforcement Agency - Drug Enforcement Administration - Required
• BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association – Required
• ACLS OR ATLS depending on surgical specialty NP/RNFA requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide medical evaluation and treatment under supervision of the Supervising Physician
• Document medical records, patient messaging, and other required documentation
• Collaborate with physicians and surgeons in various settings
• Do not perform invasive procedures or assist in surgery
