Job summary

Decatur Morgan Hospital is seeking a Program Director to establish and lead a new Family Medicine Residency Program in Decatur, Alabama. You will recruit, mentor, and shape the educational experience to attract and retain residents who will practice locally.

The role requires board certification in Family Medicine, Alabama medical licensure, and at least five years post-residency experience with leadership in graduate medical education.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Alabama licensure.
• Board certification in Family Medicine.
• Minimum five years post-residency experience.
• Three years of educational or administrative leadership in graduate medical education.
• A passion for teaching, mentoring and physician development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and governance of the Family Medicine Residency Program.
• Mentor residents and faculty and promote scholarly activity.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and community physicians to strengthen the training experience.
