Job summary

Ascension Seton Arbor Trails in Austin, TX, is seeking a Family Medicine Physician Assistant to join Ascension Medical Group Seton Arbor Trails. You will provide medical services to patients in a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule 8a–5p, working within a collaborative, mission-driven health system.

Responsibilities include taking patient histories, ordering and interpreting tests, performing preventive care, counseling patients and families, and documenting care per network standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board.
• Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date; ACLS/ALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination.
• Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies.
• Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventive health, treatment options and community resources.
• Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with network standards.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience preferred.
