Job summary

The American Academy of Family Physicians seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join a Family Medicine practice in South Deerfield, MA. The 40-hour work week includes 36 hours of direct patient care and 4 hours of administrative duties on Fridays.

The NP will provide comprehensive primary care for a diverse patient panel, performing exams, preventive care, and management of acute and chronic conditions, while focusing on prevention and wellness within a 1,000-patient panel.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• APRN-NP (State License) required.
• 0-1 year NP experience preferred.
• 2+ years NP experience in primary care preferred.
• No substitution of experience for degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, counseling, and education across ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
• Perform complete histories and physical examinations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develop plans of care and follow-up based on findings.
• Document admission, progress, operative, and discharge notes.
• Perform bedside procedures as appropriate.
• Order medications and prescribe per policies.
