Job summary

MD Billing, a rapidly growing medical billing company based in Lubbock, TX, is hiring a Coding Specialist. The role focuses on accurate coding, end-to-end claim processing, and education of providers to improve billing efficiency.

Work with multiple specialties, ensure timely submissions, and adhere to CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-CM guidelines. EMR experience (eClinical preferred) is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience with multi-specialty coding and electronic medical records.
• Current CPC or AHIMA certification preferred.
• Ability to analyze documentation and assign correct codes.

Responsibilities

• Work with providers to ensure timely billing processes.
• Bill and code for multiple specialties; handle end-to-end claim process.
• Code according to CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM; review documentation.
• Follow payer guidelines; work with LCD, NCD, NCCI edits.
• Handle denials and coding edits; ensure accurate charge capture.
• Maintain focus on accuracy and reliability in daily tasks.

We deeply believe in not only growing our company, but in growing our employees as well.Come help us continue to raise the bar in medical coding and billing!Specific Responsibilities of the Job:Work closely with providers and staff to ensure timely billing processes.Ability to effectively communicate with and educate providers as needed.Billing and Coding for multiple specialties (preferred).Ability to work End to End claim process: Coding, Rejections, DenialsWork within the EMR system to ensure charge capture and sequencing.Reviewing and interpreting provider documentation.Billing and Coding according to payer and facility guidelines.Ability to identify and code to Local Coverage Determinations and CPT Guidelines.Ability to uphold to all MD Billing coding metrics and guidelines.Following up on needed coding edits.Working with billing team to ensure proper billing and coding processes.Ability to handle workload or daily productivity.Performs all other related duties as assigned.Commitment to continuing education.Experience with multi-specialty codingExperience in E/M and Procedural CodingCurrent certification CPC, AHIMA etc. (preferred)Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM.Knowledge of current coding guidelines.Knowledge in LCD, NCD and NCCI editsKnowledge of different payers and policies e.g., Medicare, HMO, PPO, Medicare Advantage Plans etc.EMR experience (eClinical preferred)Knowledge of medical practice revenue cycle processes.Denial management and coding edit processes.Ability to identify and track trendsAbility to analyze documentation and assign appropriate codes.Ability to work independently with a high degree of attention to detail and reliable decision making.Strong analytical skills.High school diploma or GED.Schedule:Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PMWork setting:Office (If in Lubbock,TX area)Experience:2 to 5 years (preferred)License/Certification:CPC, AHIMA Certification (preferred)
