Job summary

Illinois Main Library is seeking a bilingual Family Librarian to join the KidSpace team. The role focuses on delivering outstanding services to children, caregivers, and educators through readers' advisory, reference services, and engaging programs.

You will lead family programming, coordinate large events, and assist patrons with technology while serving as PIC when a manager is unavailable. Hours include evenings and some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited library school.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide and train others in readers' advisory and reference services.
• Lead the department in services to emerging readers and their caregivers.
• Plan and present family programs and large events on evenings and weekends.
• Serve as a Person-in-Charge in the absence of a manager.
• Assist with technology-related questions, library equipment, and explain library policies.
