A respected regional litigation firm is seeking a Family Law Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Morgantown, West Virginia office. The firm focuses on helping clients through some of life’s most emotionally complex situations—including divorce, child custody, and other family law matters. This is an ideal opportunity for a licensed attorney who wants to make a meaningful difference while working in a collaborative and supportive team environment. This role is being recruited on behalf of the law firm by a legal recruiting agency.
Location:
Morgantown, West Virginia
Duties:
Represent clients in family law litigation, including trials, hearings, and mediations
Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, orders, and settlement agreements
Develop and implement personalized legal strategies focused on client goals
Supervise support staff and paralegals in preparation of legal documents
Manage equitable distribution of assets and liabilities in divorce cases
Regularly review case progress to ensure compliance with deadlines and court requirements
Maintain consistent and clear communication with clients
Collaborate with colleagues to manage case workflow and litigation planning
Requirements:
Active license to practice law in the State of West Virginia
Family law litigation experience preferred but not required
Strong courtroom presence and negotiation skills
Ability to remain calm and empathetic under pressure
Commitment to providing high-quality, client-centered legal representation
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
West Virginia Bar admission in good standing
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication
Solid legal research and drafting ability
Organized and detail-oriented approach to litigation
