A respected mid-sized law firm in the Raleigh area is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to join its growing practice. This position is ideal for an attorney with at least 2 years of family law experience who is looking to continue developing litigation skills while managing meaningful client relationships.

The firm handles a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, and related disputes.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina law license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of family law litigation experience.
• Comfortable handling hearings, negotiations, and client-facing responsibilities.
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload while also collaborating within a team.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, custody, support, alimony, and equitable distribution disputes.
• Manage cases through all stages of litigation, including intake, pleadings, discovery, motions, mediation, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, separation agreements, consent orders, and related court filings.
• Appear regularly in court and participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, and conferences.
• Provide strategic and practical legal guidance tailored to each client's goals and circumstances.
• Maintain strong communication with clients and provide updates throughout the life of the case.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff on case strategy and firm initiatives.
• If applicable, assist with estate planning matters such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and estate administration.
