A law firm seeks a family attorney in Raleigh, NC, who is passionate about representing clients during challenging times. The ideal candidate will prepare legal documents related to prenuptial agreements, divorces, alimony, child support, child custody, and real estate. Experience with child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence cases is essential.
Duties
- Supervise case teams and handle firm-critical cases.
- Assist with practice growth and train/develop litigators.
- Manage sophisticated litigation matters from inception through trial.
- Oversee case strategy across the firm.
- Work closely with firm leadership on practice growth and case management.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients during difficult times.
- Attend court proceedings to represent clients as needed.
- Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are current.
- Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to advance civil litigation processes.
- Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
- Analyze legal problems, understand client needs, and create strategic plans of action.
Requirements
- Board Certified Specialist in Family Law.
- 10-15+ years of substantial family law litigation experience.
- Significant first-chair trial experience.
- Demonstrated success in handling complex contested matters.
- Experience supervising or leading attorneys.
- Strong reputation for professionalism and ethics.
- Exceptional writing, advocacy, and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, especially in high-stress situations.
- Ability to represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case.
- Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred.
- Active member of the American Bar Association.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Certifications
Board Certified Specialist in Family Law.
