Job description

Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now! Responsibilities: • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients • Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process What You’ll Do: • Represent clients in all aspects of family law litigation and mediation , including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, prenuptial agreements, and post-divorce modifications. • Draft and prepare motions, pleadings, agreements, and trial documents. • Manage high-conflict cases , including those involving domestic violence, child abuse, and contested custody disputes. • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in court hearings and trials. • Guide clients through the legal process with clarity, empathy, and strategic planning. • Collaborate with our team to develop case strategies, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional client service. What We’re Looking For:Licensed Family Law Attorney with at least 3 years of experience handling family law matters in Massachusetts. • Strong litigation, negotiation, and client counseling skills. • Ability to independently manage a caseload while collaborating with our team. • A commitment to professionalism, strategic thinking, and client advocacy. • Experience with real estate matters related to divorce is a plus. • Tech-savvy with experience using Clio, Lawmatics, and Microsoft Office Suite (preferred). Qualifications: • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required • Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary What We’re Looking For:Experience: At least 3 years of family law experience, handling matters such as divorce, custody, and domestic violence. • Empathy and Composure: Ability to work effectively in emotional, high-stress situations while maintaining a client-centered approach. • Negotiation Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills to advocate for clients in and out of court. • Knowledge Base: Familiarity with Massachusetts family law, including property division and spousal support. Knowledge, experience, and desire to practice a second area of law. • Team Player: Collaborative attitude with a commitment to delivering excellent legal services. • Licensure: Active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
