Job summary

Jorgensen, Brownell & Pepin, P.C. in Colorado is seeking a full-time associate attorney for its Family Law practice. The role covers client contact, drafting motions, reviewing disclosures and discovery, and drafting settlement documents.

The attorney will participate from inception through trial or settlement in a collaborative team environment. This is a hybrid position with optional remote work a couple of days per week or in-office.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience
• JD from accredited law school
• Colorado license to practice (or pending)
• Experience in family law preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Cover letter, resume and writing samples are required

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients and manage cases from inception through trial or settlement
• Draft and respond to motions, review disclosures and discovery, and draft settlement documents
• Maintain client contact and meet deadlines in a team environment
• Explain court procedures and provide clear, professional writing

Jorgensen, Brownell & Pepin, P.C., a mid‑sized law firm with offices in Denver, Broomfield, Longmont and Loveland, has an immediate opening for a full‑time associate attorney in its Family Law practice group. The ideal candidate will play an integral role on cases from inception through trial or settlement, including client contact, drafting and responding to motions, reviewing and charting disclosures and discovery, and drafting settlement documents. We have a strong team and want someone to join us who has the patience of a saint, the work ethic of Sisyphus, and the heart of the Tin Man. Or if not those, then a good demeanor, strong sense of humor, and a willingness to try their best.

Once you’re established, this position is a hybrid position. You will have the option to work remotely a couple of days per week or in‑office as you prefer.

For this position, interpersonal skills, great writing skills, attention to detail, ability to set priorities & adapt to changes, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects are key. A knowledge of court rules and family law is helpful. This is a litigation position, so any court experience is also beneficial.
