Role Description

The Family Law Attorney will handle a full range of domestic relations matters, including divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, alimony, property division, and protective orders. This full-time, on-site role based in Clinton, TN involves meeting with clients, assessing legal issues, developing case strategies, drafting pleadings and motions, and representing clients in hearings and trials. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, preparing and reviewing discovery, taking and defending depositions when appropriate, negotiating settlements, and maintaining clear, timely communication with clients. The attorney will collaborate with colleagues and staff, manage case files and deadlines, and uphold the firm’s standards of ethical, professional, and client-focused advocacy.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law and demonstrated knowledge of Family Law.
• Ability to analyze complex Legal Issues and develop strategic case approaches.
• Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions before the court.
• Experience preparing for, conducting, or defending Depositions as needed.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Tennessee (or ability to obtain in a reasonable timeframe).
• Prior experience in family law litigation, including courtroom advocacy and negotiation of settlements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong client counseling and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, collaborate with a legal team, and maintain confidentiality and professional integrity.
