Job summary

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a Family Intake Therapist to serve as a roamer therapist across IP, PHP, and intake roles. You will provide intake and family assessments, family therapy, crisis intervention, and telephone triage for psychiatric inpatients and other units.

The role involves on-site work at Medical Center - Fort Worth, with 20 hours per week and varied shifts. Requires Master's in Social Work or related field and LMSW/LCSW licensure (QMHP and CPR CPI certifications

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or related field required.
• Licensed by State of Texas: LMSW or LCSW.
• QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake and family assessments.
• Deliver family therapy and crisis intervention.
• Conduct telephone triage for psychiatric inpatients, PHP, ER, and discharged patients.
• Participate in group therapy and multi-disciplinary treatment.
• Maintain case management and payer information; ensure documentation.

Job description

Location: Medical Center - Fort Worth

Department: Psychiatry

Shift: Varying Shifts (United States of America)

Standard Weekly Hours: 20

Summary: This Family Intake Therapist will serve as a roamer therapist (learning the IP therapist, PHP therapist and intake therapist role). The Therapist will support in either area depending on staffing and needs. Will provide intake and family assessments, family therapy, crisis intervention, and telephone triage for psychiatric inpatients, PHP, ER, and discharged patients. Participates in group therapy, multi-disciplinary treatment, diagnostic conferences, and diagnostic interviews. Provides case management services for all patients. Manages patients mental health benefits, and keeps informed of all information regarding the patients treatment and their payor. Available for Intake on-call on as needed basis.

Hours: 20 hours per week, Mon. & Tues and alternating Weds or Wkend day (or) Thurs & Fri and alternating Weds or Wkend day.

Education/Experience:

• Master's level in Social Work or related field.
• Child growth and development education required.

• Experience in providing family therapy.
• Hospital and Pediatric Psych experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

• Licensed by State of Texas: LMSW or LCSW.

• Qualified as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) by the Texas Department of Health.

• CPR Heartsaver Certification.

• CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position must be completed within 60 days of start date.
