Job summary

Easterseals Vermont is seeking a Family Engagement Specialist to join our family-friendly team. You will facilitate family meetings and provide in-home support to strengthen families in their homes, coaching parents to nurture children in DCF custody, and reaching out to extended family for support.

We value work-life balance and offer extensive training and supervision. Preference is given to applicants with a Bachelor’s in Human Services or related field and at least two years of experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Two years of human services experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check are required.
• Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets our coverage limits is required.

As a Family Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for facilitating family meetings and providing in-home support to strengthen families in their homes. You will coach parents to have safe and nurturing time with their children who are placed in DCF custody, and support them to meet the needs of their children in the moment. You will also call extended family members to explore familial support and create genograms. While we work closely with Department of Children and Families - Family Services Division, we have our own separate and comfortable offices!We are searching for candidates who understand the complex issues facing families including past trauma, substance use disorders, domestic violence, mental health issues and generational poverty. Extensive training and supervision are provided.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferredTwo years of human services experience preferredStrong interpersonal, communication and writing skillsValid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check are required,Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets our coverage limits is required.Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. We are hoping for flexibility to support parents’ individual schedules. We support a healthy work/life balance in this job.Compensation: $22.00 - $25.75 hourly, dependent upon experience and education.Sign On Bonus is paid at 3 and 6 months of continued full-time employment - the bonus is subject to all taxes, deductions and voluntary deductions elected.What’s in it for you?
