Job summary

Easterseals Vermont is seeking a Family Engagement Specialist to support families in their homes and work closely with the DCF Family Services team. You will facilitate family meetings, coach parents, and build genograms to strengthen caregiving and foster resilience.

The role requires strong interpersonal and writing skills, a valid driver's license, and a commitment to trauma-informed care. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Two years of human services experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
• Own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets coverage limits.

As a Family Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for facilitating family meetings and providing in-home support to strengthen families in their homes. You will coach parents to have safe and nurturing time with their children who are placed in DCF custody, and support them to meet the needs of their children in the moment. You will also call extended family members to explore familial support and create genograms. While we work closely with Department of Children and Families - Family Services Division, we have our own separate and comfortable offices! We are searching for candidates who understand the complex issues facing families including past trauma, substance use disorders, domestic violence, mental health issues and generational poverty.
