Job summary

Easter Seals Vermont is seeking a Family Engagement Specialist in Middlebury, VT to support families by facilitating meetings and providing in-home coaching to parents whose children are in DCF custody. You will help families build safe, nurturing routines and connect them with community resources.

This full-time role offers a $22.00–$25.75 hourly wage, a $1,500 sign-on bonus, flexible schedules, generous benefits, paid time off, and a supportive, family-friendly work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Two years of human services experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Reliable vehicle with insurance required.

As a Family Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for facilitating family meetings and providing in-home support to strengthen families in their homes. You will coach parents to have safe and nurturing time with their children who are placed in DCF custody, and support them to meet the needs of their children in the moment. You will also call extended family members to explore familial support and create genograms. While we work closely with Department of Children and Families - Family Services Division, we have our own separate and comfortable offices! We are searching for candidates who understand the complex issues facing families including past trauma, substance use disorders, domestic violence, mental health issues and generational poverty. Extensive training and supervision are provided. **Qualifications:*** Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred* Two years of human services experience preferred* Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills* Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check are required,* Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets our coverage limits is required.**Hours:** Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
