Easterseals Vermont is hiring a Family Engagement Assistant in St Johnsbury, VT. This full-time role focuses on transporting families to services and facilitating contact between children and parents in various settings to support family reunification and engagement.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks. Training is provided; a 30-40 hour work week with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; minimum age 18.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to pass background and fingerprinting.
• Own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets coverage limits.
• Associate’s Degree and Human Services experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and parents to needed services and provide supported contact in offices and community settings.
• Support safe, productive time for families in coordination with service providers.
• Reach out to family members when youth are in DCF custody to build a support network.
• Collaborate with the Department of Children and Families - Family Services Division and maintain clear documentation.

As a Family Engagement Assistant, responsibilities include transporting children and parents to needed services as well as providing supported contact for children and parents within office and community settings, to allow separated families to have safe and productive time with each other. In addition, Family Engagement Assistants may call family members when youth come into DCF custody, to assist in the development of a support network for those youth and their families. While we work closely with Department of Children and Families - Family Services Division, we have our own separate and comfortable offices!An ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills (phone and in-person), be able to document work completed and be a strong team player. Training and supervision are provided.**Qualifications:*** This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent. (Minimum age of 18 years old.)
