Easter Seals Vermont is seeking a Family Engagement Assistant to transport families to services and provide supported contact so separated families can spend time safely together. The role requires strong communication, documentation, and teamwork, with supervision provided.

Responsibilities

• Contact family members when youth come into DCF custody to help build a support network.
• Work closely with Families Services Division while maintaining our own offices.

As a Family Engagement Assistant, responsibilities include transporting children and parents to needed services as well as providing supported contact for children and parents within office and community settings, to allow separated families to have safe and productive time with each other. In addition, Family Engagement Assistants may call family members when youth come into DCF custody, to assist in the development of a support network for those youth and their families. While we work closely with Department of Children and Families - Family Services Division, we have our own separate and comfortable offices!An ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills (phone and in-person), be able to document work completed and be a strong team player. Training and supervision are provided.Qualifications:This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent. (Minimum age of 18 years old.) An Associate’s Degree and experience in Human Services is preferred, but not required.Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting are required.Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets our coverage limits is required.Hours: This is a full-time position, 30-40 hours per week.
