Thompson Child & Family Focus - A Child's Place Program seeks a Family Education Specialist to provide evidenced-based family education and parenting classes in the Family Support department. You will support clients, link to resources, and recruit participants while planning and leading evening sessions at Thompson Family Service Center on Wendover Rd.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a human services field, certification within six months, strong data entry, a valid driver's license, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human service or related field required.
• Must be trained and/or certified facilitator or become certified within six months in an evidence-based curriculum.
• Must have strong data entry skills.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet credentialing/licensing standards.
• All candidates must pass a drug screening and extensive background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, evidenced-based family education and parenting classes to assigned clients through support, collaboration, linkage to community resources, imparting knowledge, enhancing parenting skills, and ongoing recruitment for classes.
• Documentation, client contact, class planning (ordering food, incentives), and facilitating evening classes; 2–3 classes per week; evenings; location Thompson Family Service Center (Wendover Rd).

What will you do as a Family Education Specialist?

• As a Family Education Specialist in the Family Support department, you will provide quality, evidenced based family education and parenting classes to assigned clients through support, collaboration, linkage to community resources, imparting knowledge, enhancing parenting skills, participating in any collateral contacts on behalf of the client and ongoing recruitment for the classes.
• A typical day as a Family Education Specialist will include documentation, client contact, planning for your class (ordering food, incentives, etc.) and facilitating a class in the evenings. As a Family Education Specialist you will have 2-3 classes a week, all are classes are in the evening. This position is full time. The position is located at Thompson Family Service Center (Wendover Rd).

Requirements

• Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in.
